WHERE GOLF MEETS TRUE NATURE
Situated in the Eastern Coast, Quinta da Ria Resort is a well-known golf attraction in the Algarve.
Including two spectacular golf courses, Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima, both 18-hole golf courses with unforgettable scenery.
Located just over half an hour from Faro International Airport, Quinta da Ria resort is perfectly integrated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, the most significant Eco-system in the Algarve, comprised of a line of barrier Islands along the coast, making this protected wet-land a rich nature habitat for numerous biological species.
Designed by the architect Rocky Roquemore, the Ria course has already been described by experienced golfers as the most breathtaking golf course in the region. The pleasant see views and sandy beach islands, combined with the mountain landscape of the opposite site undoubtedly make Quinta da Ria a golf paradise.
Quinta de Cima is the Championship Course and it offers different and very unique characteristics: wide fairways, well based bunkers and several lake and streams which calls for a good deal of precision playing. The water hazards of the course and the long fairways emphasize the need for a good club selection, challenging even the most experienced players.
The Quinta da Ria
Located within the Ria Formosa Natural Park, this 18-hole golf course offers amazing views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the beach of Cacela Velha, which recently has been awarded amongst one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Right from the start of the round, you will be able to recognize the work and design of a world renowned Golf Course Architect – Rocky Roquemore. The idea of the architect was to create a challenging golf course, yet maintaining the original natural landscape with thousands of ancient olive and carob trees.
Boasting five lakes dotted within flat terrain, the two sets of 9 holes contain a mixture of par’s trees, fours and fives. One of the most iconic points at Quinta da Ria is the 17th hole, which has a small island on the lake, now a sanctuary of endangered rare birds.
The Quinta de Cima
Designed by the well-known American Architect – Rocky Roquemore, Quinta de Cima was conceived as the championship course of the golf resort.
The opening PAR 5 is a gentle start to the round, but the course will become tougher as the round progresses, with dog-legs to the right and left and undulating greens which are well protected by large sandy bunkers and lakes. There are also several natural creeks running through the course that will also increase its difficulty. Throughout the course you will find many ancient carob and olive trees, which adds a certain character to the layout. The natural beauty and the challenging features of this golf course will make you return time and time again.

WHY IT IS THE PERFECT STARTING POINT FOR MANY MOTORBIKE TOURS
ROBINSON stands for unique experiences and enjoyment during your holiday. The ROBINSON Quinta da Ria is an all-inclusive club with 4 stars according to German standards. Faro airport is only about half an hour away.
In the months from December to the end of February, the temperatures in the Algarve do not usually fall below 15 degrees, so pleasant motorbike weather is the order of the day! The club is surrounded by numerous orange groves, and a few kilometres inland there are mid-range mountains with incredibly winding roads and welcoming little towns. This means that idyllic motorbike routes are practically on the doorstep of the club. There are local pubs in almost every village where you can get a good coffee or cold drink at any time and at a very reasonable price. In the area around the border river with Spain or around the picturesque villages of Cachopo, Martim Longo, Mertola, Almodovar, etc., you also have no opportunity to run your tyres flat. Longer rides are also possible, e.g. towards Monchique (the highest point in the Algarve) or Cabo de São Vicente (the most south-westerly point in continental Europe). If you make it there, we recommend a stop at the cult stand "Last sausage before America".
Bike and equipment - Everything included
In addition to the motorcycle including top case, the entire rider equipment, namely suit, boots, helmet and gloves, is already included in the motorbike rental in Portugal. Suits are available in all standard men's sizes from 46 to 58/60 on site. This saves you some space in your suitcase and you can travel to Faro with lighter luggage.
Navigation/Guiding - How to find the most scenic tours around the area
In order to reach all the beautiful places without any problems, two navigation options are available. For example, you can connect your smartphone to your motorcycle via the BMW Motorrad Connected app and then be guided via the integrated TFT display of the bike. Alternatively, our BMW R 1300 GS rental motorcycles are equipped with the original BMW Cradle. This is a cradle mounted in the rider's area of vision with inductive charging for your smartphone, which thus becomes your navigation device.
Of course, we also share the GPS data of already proven tours with you and send them directly to your phone. This way you stay independent and can drive or combine the tours as you like.
If you don't want to drive ahead yourself and prefer to get behind a guide, you can fall back on an experienced guide. This way you and all your fellow riders can enjoy the surroundings in an even more relaxed way.
